The short version
Cookies keep your cart, your delivery or pickup choice, and your form entries in place while you order. We do not use them to build an advertising profile of you.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember things between page loads, such as form state or a preference. Similar technologies, including local storage, work in comparable ways and are covered by this policy.
A cookie is set by the site you are visiting and read back by that same site on later pages, which is why a half-finished order usually survives a refresh or a trip to the menu page. Local storage and session storage hold similar pieces of information in your browser instead of sending them back and forth with every request; for a visitor, the practical difference is small, and both are covered here.
Cookies can be session-based, which means they are cleared when you close the browser, or persistent, which means they stay on your device until they expire or you delete them. They can also be first-party, set by chipostegrill.delivery, or third-party, set by a service that is helping the page do something specific. This page covers all of those categories as they apply to this site.
Why we use cookies
We use cookies and other similar storage to keep the ordering flow working, to remember details you have entered so you don't have to retype them, and to understand in aggregate how visitors use the site. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of individual visitors.
In practice that means three things on this site. Your cart and your choice between pickup and delivery are held while you browse. The details you type into the order form stay filled in if you move to another page and come back. And we can see, in counts rather than identities, which pages people reach and how they got there, so we can tell whether the menu or the ordering steps need work.
Types of cookies we use
Three categories exist on this site. Each one has a job, and each one behaves differently when you block it.
- Strictly necessary
- Support core functions like form submission and security. Blocking these may stop part of the ordering flow from working.
- Preference
- Remember choices you make on the site, such as details you have already entered or a service type you selected.
- Analytics
- Where present, record aggregate usage such as page views and referrers. They tell us which pages get used, not who used them.
We do not operate third-party advertising cookies on this site, and we do not sell cookie data.
Third-party services
Some functions, such as delivery coordination or embedded tools, may set their own cookies when they are used. Those providers handle data under their own policies, and we don't control the cookies they set.
Where third-party tools are used, they are limited to what the ordering process requires. A payment step, for example, needs its own fraud and security checks, and those run on the provider's side. We choose tools that do a specific job in the order flow rather than tools that follow you around the web, and we do not pass your order details to anyone beyond the people preparing and delivering your food plus the services required to take payment and complete the handoff.
If a third-party tool changes what it sets, the change appears on the provider's own policy page. If you would like to know which services are active on this site at any point, write to us at the address in the last section and we will tell you.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view stored cookies, remove them individually, and set rules for future ones. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the ordering flow, such as a cart or a form, from working correctly.
- Browser settings usually list stored cookies under privacy or site data, where you can remove one site's data without clearing everything else.
- Private or incognito windows clear most cookies when you close the window, which is useful if you just want a clean session.
- If your order form will not keep your details, cookies are the most likely cause — allow cookies for this site and try again.
- A phone call to the restaurant is always an option if a browser setting keeps getting in the way of an order.
Blocking analytics cookies only costs us information — it does not change what you can order or what you pay.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy, and the current version is always posted here. Questions about cookies can be sent to our email or by mail to the restaurant address.
If a change affects how cookies are used for ordering or for measuring site use, the update date at the top of this page changes with it. If you would rather talk to someone directly about a cookie concern before placing an order, call during service hours and we will walk through the setting with you.
